Director of Osteopathic Medical Education
Position Now Available
Central
Washington Family Medicine is currently seeking an osteopathic family
medicine physician to join our faculty as Director of Medical Education.
The position requires board certification, ACOFM and/or ABFM with
the minimal requirement of completion of an AOA approved internship.
Preference is for full-time including obstetrics. We offer a competitive
salary and excellent benefits. The position would be 70% clinical
and 30% administrative. Clinical time would include the staffing
of a musculoskeletal clinic that all residents – allopathic
and osteopathic – would rotate through.
Our
community and residency have a long and healthy history of osteopathic
involvement. From our inception in 1993 we have recruited and trained
osteopathic doctors. Currently, the Pacific Northwest University
of Health Sciences is in its early planning stages, and is moving
forward to opening a new Osteopathic Medical School here in Yakima
in the fall of 2007. Our modern clinic is specifically designed
for our residency program, and includes an exceptional electronic
medical record system. We have an outstanding clinic staff, and
the luxury of 1:1 nurse-doctor ratio in the clinic.
CWFM
enjoys strong support and respect from the Yakima medical community.
Our faculty group is an outstanding team that strives to provide
the best possible training for family practice residents.
Yakima
is only a two hour drive from Seattle, and three hours from Portland,
Oregon. Located east of the Cascade Mountains, we enjoy over 300
days of sunshine per year. Central Washington offers varied recreational
opportunities without fighting the traffic! These include excellent
hiking, mountaineering, road and mountain biking, whitewater kayaking
and rafting, fishing, windsurfing, downhill and nordic skiing, as
well as world class wineries and wine tasting. Please explore our
web site for further information regarding our faculty members,
residents, staff and the Yakima area.
An
ideal candidate will be dedicated to quality resident education.
