A board-certified teaching faculty of family physicians, pediatricians,
an internist, dermatologist, pharmacologist and psychologist supervises
residents. All faculty spend time in clinic practice, assuring clinical
and technical competency.
The Central Washington Family Medicine faculty bring a wealth of
experience. Each has special areas of interest, training and background
which are complementary and enable the program to train physicians
for service to rural and underserved populations. Core faculty teaching
is supplemented by the active participation of nearly 150 volunteer
community attendings and clinic preceptors.
Faculty members also precept students. Central Washington Family
Medicine is a site for the required clerkship
in family medicine for the University of Washington School of
Medicine and offers 3rd year rotations and elective sub-internship
for 4th year medical students. Clinical training is also provided
for physician assistant, nursing, doctor of pharmacy, nursing and
other medically-related students.
