Salary: First Year Residents at Central Washington Family Medicine earn $41,771 per year. Second Year Residents earn $44,098 per year. Third Year Residents earn $46,360 per year.
Vacation: 15 days annually
Personal Days: 4 days annually
Holidays: 9 per year
Sick: 96 hours annually
Professional Development Funds: $1000 over the three years of residency
Professional Development Days: Up to 8 days spread across the R-2 and R-3 years, with no more than 5 days taken either year

A resident’s salary goes further here. According to Money Magazine, the cost of living is about 20% lower than in major West Coast cities like Seattle, Portland and LA. Affordable rental, lease or purchase housing is readily available, close to both hospitals and the CWFM Family Medicine Center.
It’s easy to get around town.
If you’re coming from a major metropolitan area, you’re probably resigned to traffic jams and long commutes. That’s not the case here; any destination in the Yakima metropolitan area can be reached comfortably within 10-15 minutes. In 45 minutes, you’re in the Cascade Range…or well on the way to Seattle or the Columbia Gorge.
The territorial views….wide open spaces….proximity to the mountains and rivers…our uncongested community and laid-back lifestyle are all part of what makes Yakima special. We enjoy the benefits of a small community yet offer many urban amenities.

Residents on family medicine and OB services receive meals at no charge in the physician lounges and hospital cafeterias. Lunches are frequently provided at the CWFM Family Medicine Center—for Wednesday didactics and other conferences.
Parking is FREE and it’s adjacent to both hospitals and the CWFM Family Medicine Center. No long walks or shuttle rides in dark or wintry weather; park right at the medical staff entrance 24 hours per day.
