Teresa Lam, MD

Teresa’s desire to become a physician grew from watching her mother suffer from rheumatoid arthritis, at ten years old she would often sit alone an a hill and dream about fixing her mother’s illness. After graduating from Hunan Medical College, she worked as an infectious disease specialist for two years then in 1995 she relocated to the United States to be with her husband and worked as a medical interpreter while gaining an understanding of the U.S healthcare system. Teresa enjoyed relating to diverse patients, but missed the intimate patient-physician relationships that result in improvements in the patient’s lives. To prepare for residency in family medicine, Teresa completed a clinical preceptorship that included inpatient and outpatient experience, at the Oregon Health Sciences University Family Health Center – Richmond. She speaks Chinese Mandarin, Cantonese, Yueyang, and Linxiang languages. In her free time, she enjoys jogging, cooking, swimming, reading, sewing and spending time with her husband and children.

It was her father’s deteriorating health and the encouragement of others that led to Sheau-fang’s decision to study medicine at SUNY Downstate College of medicine. She values the intellectual stimulation of inpatient rounds, the learning of procedural skills, the variety of patients of all ages and stages of life, and the experience of holding new born babies. Sheau-Fang’s academic and clinical experiences prior to medical school and her experiences during medical school and residency reaffirm her commitment to family medicine.

Judye Scheidt, DO
Prior to matriculating at Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Midwestern University, Judye had a lucrative career as a consultant at Microsoft. Her focus shifted while building homes for Habitat for Humanity in India and South Africa, when she concluded that her career didn’t allow service to others at the level she desired. During medical school, Judye held several leadership positions and was involved in the Homeless Outreach program where she belonged because it offered opportunities to provide continuity of care to patients, including obstetrics and geriatrics. Judye enjoys hiking, bicycling, kayaking, snow skiing, traveling and spending time with her husband, daughter, family and friends. She hopes to open a practice in her hometown of Milton, Washington.

Mindy Udell, MD
Growing up on a small farm in the Yakima Valley, Mindy witnessed how medically underserved a rural population could be. Medicine combined her love of science, appreciation for the human body, and desire to serve her community. As a student at the University of Washington School of Medicine, Mindy was interested in a field of medicine that would allow her to care for patients across a broad spectrum and acuity of  medical problems. She discovered family medicine as the specialty where she could experience the joy of following a patient through pregnancy and delivery, and provide continuity of care for the mother, infant and family. Following residency, she plans to settle in the Yakima Valley, start a family and practice family medicine with an emphasis on women’s health. Mindy’s personal interests include scrap booking, Pilates, baking, and spending time with her husband and his daughter.
